The Port of Algeciras welcomed twenty national and international participants for the second edition of the “Decarbonisation. Green Corridors” MEDPorts Training Programme, a three-day programme dedicated to advancing the maritime energy transition through training, cooperation and knowledge exchange.
In their opening remarks, Luis Núñez, Head of Strategy at the Port of Algeciras, and David Magro, President of the MEDPorts Association, underlined the Mediterranean’s strategic position along global maritime routes. With European and non-European ports operating across the region, they stressed that a successful energy transition depends on the entire maritime ecosystem moving forward together.
Delivered as a micro-credential in cooperation with the MEDPorts Association, the University of Cádiz and the European University of the Seas (SEA-EU), the course reinforces the role of skills development and cross-border collaboration in translating decarbonisation ambitions into practical, viable projects.
